The gaming world has been taken by storm by Bulkhead's latest shooter, Wardogs. Despite being available exclusively on PC, the title managed to sell over 1 million copies within its first 24 hours, marking one of the most successful launches of the year. Priced at 40 Euros, the game has quickly climbed to the top of the Steam charts.
Massive Traffic and Server Struggles
According to Steam data, the game peaked at over 340,000 concurrent players, leading to significant server strain. Many players found themselves stuck in queues, waiting for their turn to experience the battlefield. As developers scramble to stabilize the experience, players are checking their hardware requirements, asking: Ready for Wardogs?
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer expressed his astonishment at the results. Reminding fans that the game is still in Early Access, the developer promised a steady stream of patches, quality-of-life improvements, and new content to keep the community engaged as the initial hype settles.
A Perfect Blend of Realism and Action
Wardogs bridges the gap between the tactical realism of military simulators like Arma and the fast-paced, explosive nature of the Battlefield series. This hybrid approach has resonated deeply with the gaming community, setting a new benchmark for competitive shooters.
"We are humbled by the response, but we know the real work of refining the experience is just beginning," stated Joe Brammer.
Console players will have to wait a bit longer to join the fight, as the team confirmed that PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions are currently in development, with a target release window of 2028. For now, PC players can look forward to upcoming balance changes and new content drops, similar to the excitement seen during major Steam sales and events.
