A Short-Lived Chapter: Kwalee Labs Shuts Down
The gaming industry has been hit with unexpected news as Kwalee Labs, the developer behind the recently released PC and PS5 title Luna Abyss, has ceased operations. This closure comes a mere month after the title finally reached players.
The studio, originally known as Bonsai Collective, had been acquired by Kwalee out of administration back in September. According to a LinkedIn update shared by former creative director Benni Hill, the studio will not be continuing its operations, marking a swift end to what was once a highly anticipated project. The news serves as a somber reminder of the volatile nature of the modern game development landscape, even for teams behind well-received titles.
